NOW Lesley and I have moved to Whitehaven in Cumbria it was inevitable we would start to explore the mysteries of this particular county.

It has proved wonderfully rich in folklore and traditions. Many are well known but we've also tried to unearth those lost in the archives or not yet recorded in writing. On this website are just a selection of the ones we have found so far. We have also published a number of booklets on Cumbrian legends and these will be shamelessly plugged on this website in the coming months!
