OUR book on the fairies of the Lake District and Cumbria is now available as a Kindle ebook. It contains details of the Whitehaven fairies at Fairy Rock, The Gelt Wood fairy houses, the Borrowdale and Millom hobthrosses, the Fairy Postman from Keswick and much more. It is available from Amazon.com, Amazon.co.uk and other Amazon sites.
I HAVE previously published Fairies of Cumbria as an A5 booklet but have now 're-packaged' it as an A6 hardback book - again handmade. It covers the fairies of Bassenthwaite, Whitehaven, Ambleside, Coniston - even telling you where to go to see them! It's £4.99 plus £1 postage.
I CAME across an account from 1902 of a fairy being caught near Carlisle in Cumbria. I have now obtained the full legend and it is included in my latest blog.
HIDDEN in a box of Strange Wycombe books, were a dozen copies of Strange Berkshire. This was published in 1986 and is now as rare as hen's teeth. I am having to charge £10 plus £1 postage as it will quickly re-sell for that amount on eBay! It features articles on Herne the Hunter, holy wells, the Witches of Windsor and the Stab Monk tradition - written by such good folk as Michael Bayley and Eric Fitch. Illustrations include the grand work of Chesca Potter and Yvonne Wootton. It's a beautiful looking 60-page booklet and the ones I have left are in good condition. I suspect they will go quick so hurry up and order one.
BACK IN 1985, a group of folklore enthusiasts in High Wycombe, Bucks formed Strange Folklore Society to investigate local legends. The result was the booklet, Strange Wycombe. It quickly sold out and it was reprinted in 1991. I've found a box of these in my loft so if you want to snap up a collector's item head over to our online bookshop quick!
